PTO/Site Council

We encourage  parental involvement in education. Interested parents may participate in our school's Parent Teacher Organization (PTO) or Site Council. PTO volunteers meet monthly at 5:00 p.m. on school grounds to organize student events and activities. Site Council volunteers share ideas and concerns regarding school policies and hold meetings on the third Wednesday of every month from 11:30 a.m. to noon in the 4–8 library. Be sure to contact Alicia Guzman at 602-683-2400 for more information regarding site council. Please visit the quick links on the Home page for more information concerning PTO, or talk to the front office as to how you can better serve Wilson Elementary School.

Our Curriculum

In addition to basic College and Career Ready Standards, our school subscribes to the AVID College Readiness System, which instills the fundamentals of a college education. The Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) organization's principles reinforce Wilson's core values, and we do our best to ensure we implement them school wide. Learn why choosing Wilson will help your child succeed In addition to college readiness, Wilson's goal is for all students to meet and exceed academic standards in English, algebra, science, social studies, technology, and in all other subjects. Wilson has an exemplary English Language Learners (ELL) department devoted to transitioning students into mainstream classes using the Structured English Immersion (SEI) Program and passing the Arizona English Language Learning Assessment (AZELLA). Wilson's direct instruction approach promotes inquiry-based learning and skill mastery.
